Miso is made from a mixture of soybeans and rice that has been fermented with salt, water, and a fungus. But before you get grossed out by the fungus part, you should know that it carries quite a few health benefits, since it’s packed with protein, vitamins, and minerals.

How do I cook with it?

We make preparing healthy meals easy! The six MiSOgood products come in two categories: three soup bases and three instant sauces. However, all products are multi-functional. The three soups provide an instant meal by just adding hot water. You can also pour the liquid concentrate straight from the bottle to use as a sauce. The three instant sauce recipes are super versatile and work well as a protein marinade, in a glaze, or as a sauce thickener. MiSOgood offers distinct flavor options designed for a wide variety of uses to invigorate ideas for meal preparation.

How is MiSOgood good for me?

All MiSOgood products are USDA Certified Organic, Non-GMO, gluten-free, and vegan. (It doesn’t get any healthier than that!) There’s even a soy-free option that’s made with fermented rice. Miso is rich in essential minerals and is a good source of various B vitamins, vitamins E and K, and folic acid. Miso is also a fermented food, providing the gut with beneficial bacteria that keeps the gut healthy.

What does Miso taste like?

Depending on the variety, it can taste salty, sweet, earthy, fruity, or savory. Miso that has been fermenting longer has a deeper, richer flavor.

How does color affect taste?

The longer miso ferments, the darker it is. MiSOgood’s Sweet & Savory White Miso is the mildest variety, with a golden color—perfect for salad dressings and light sauces. Think of white miso as Miso 101, a great introduction for anyone who has never tried it before. Our Brown Rice Miso is much more robust, due to the longer fermentation period. It’s best used in hearty sauces and soups. MiSOgood’s flavored miso such as Sesame Miso, Spicy Miso and Miso Teriyaki carry bold, authentic flavors inspired from different cultures around the world.

Does MiSOgood have a shelf life?

All MiSOgood products can sit on your shelf for up to 12 months. They do need to be refrigerated after opening.
